Outreach

In our work unit members and staff engage in work opportunities that assist other members of the Club primarily with outreach and housing related issues but also help out with a few other endeavors for Crossroads.

Through Outreach such ways that we can assist members who are struggling with getting into the Clubhouse include:

• In-house phone calls
• Hospital & Home Visits
• Van Transportation
• Sending Greeting Cards
• Orienting New Members to the Clubhouse
• Operating an After-Hours Member-to-Member Peer Support Line.

Within our unit we also assist members with such housing related issues as:

• Apartment searches
• Acquiring furniture donations
• Help with moving
• Recruiting member assistance with housecleaning
• Addressing issues of homelessness and poverty
• Completing applications for supportive housing
• Assisting Mental Health Services in the development of new housing units for individuals
• living with a mental illness.

As well as housing and outreach initiatives our work unit also facilitates a Spirituality Group and a Harm Reduction Group as part of our "Wellness & Leisure Program". We also organize our Club's clothing closet, an area for members to access clothing that has been donated to Crossroads. Other endeavors that we have engaged in include such special projects as the development of Crossroads' Website and creating workshops on diversity and wellness.
