Food & Environmental Services

In our work unit members and staff work hand and hand with one another. Within our unit we are responsible for four primary areas: kitchen services, general maintenance & cleaning, our wellness & leisure program, and operation of our cafe.

Kitchen Services Work Opportunities Include:

• Preparation of a hot meal every day from Monday to Saturday
• Meal Ticket Cashiering
• Table Setting & Serving
• After meal clean up
• Menu planning
• Acquisition of groceries needed for our Club.

General Maintenance & Cleaning Includes:

• Mopping Floors
• Painting
• Keeping Bathrooms Clean
• Installing new Clubhouse hardware
• Fixing items around the club that need repair

Wellness & Leisure Program

Our "wellness & leisure" program operates during lunch hour and on Wednesday Evenings and Saturdays. This is time reserved during our work ordered day for personal growth through relaxation & recreation. As part of this program it is our responsibility to carry out:

• Our monthly calendar of events
• Planning for each Wednesday Evening & Saturday Program.
• Our Tuesday sports activity at the YMCA, usually floor hockey or basketball.

Café

The café is a key component to the Clubhouse Experience. Members of the Clubhouse have the opportunity to work the cash, pick up supplies, as well as to distribute tea & coffee, pop, and snacks. This part of the club is very important as it gives us those boosts to get our days going and gives us a place to relax when we're not working.
