Work Units..

Employment & Education

One of the primary tenets of the Clubhouse Movement is that recovery takes place through work. It is through work that relationships can be built, self esteem enhanced, and lost confidence regained. To further this belief, with the assistance of our unit, the Clubhouse encourages and supports members in obtaining and maintaining meaningful employment and educational experiences in the community.

Member involvement in this unit may include:

  • Assisting to prepare for employment presentations
  • Preparing Transitional Employment (TE) packages
  • Exploring educational opportunities (GED, Community College, University, Private Colleges, and other types of courses).
  • Completing applications for education.
  • Completing job searches (newspaper & Internet).
  • Peer-to-peer tutoring (each-one-teach-one, computers, math, reading, homework).
  • Exploring individual interests regarding employment and education.
  • Organizing in-house educational events/presentations.
